Whiteboard basics

Every tool on the whiteboard toolbar, from pen and sticky notes to LaTeX formulas, embeds and an in-board video call.

Whiteboards are an infinite canvas you and your students can draw on together. Create one from the Whiteboards page, or add one to a lesson from inside the classroom.

The toolbar

Select and movePick things up, move and resize them.
Pen / HighlighterFreehand drawing, in a choice of colours.
Erase drawingRub out pen strokes.
Add textA text box — double-click to edit.
Add formulaA LaTeX formula, rendered properly.
Add sticky noteA coloured note for brainstorming.
Add figureRectangle, ellipse, triangle, diamond, arrow or line.
Add image / Add fileUpload a picture or a document onto the canvas.
Add web embedPaste a URL or iframe code to drop a live web page on the board.
Classario contentPut one of your own materials or a single element straight onto the board.
Open video callStart or join a call inside the board itself.

Along the bottom of the rail: Undo, Zoom in / Zoom out, Reset canvas view, Delete selected object and Clear board.

Naming and sharing

Click the title at the top to rename the board. On the right are Students can edit — the difference between a shared canvas and a presentation — and Copy share link.

Unlimited whiteboards are included on every plan, including Lite.
