Roles and permissions

Owner, admin, tutor and student — what each one can see and change, and how people end up with more than one school.

Every person in Classario has exactly one role per space. This is what each role can do.

There is one owner per space — the person who created it. Admins can do everything an owner can except change the subscription.

What a tutor sees

A tutor works inside someone else's school. They see the students assigned to them, not the whole roll, and the calendar's tutor filter defaults to their own lessons. Every member of staff can edit every course and material in the space, so a shared library really is shared.

Tutors do not see Billing, Team or Custom Branding at all.

What a student sees

Students get a deliberately small app: their Calendar, Messages, Homework and Practice. No Library, no Students page, no Mini Games, no billing. They cannot create anything — they answer.

Belonging to more than one school

One login can be a member of several spaces — an owner of your own, and a tutor in someone else's. A space switcher appears above your name in the sidebar. Your role, students and materials are whatever that space says they are; nothing crosses between spaces.

There is no parent role

Classario has no separate account type for parents or observers. If a parent needs access, give them a student account or forward what they need.
