What is Classario?

A tour of what Classario does, who each part is for, and the words used throughout this help centre.

Classario is one place to plan lessons, teach them live, and follow what your students do afterwards. Instead of a video tool, a slide deck, a whiteboard app and a homework spreadsheet, you build a material once and teach it inside Classario's own classroom.

This article is for anyone opening Classario for the first time, whether you teach on your own or run a school with several tutors.

What you can do

  • Plan — build interactive materials in the Library, or let Cleo AI draft one from a topic.
  • Schedule — put lessons on the calendar, one at a time or as a repeating series.
  • Teach — open the classroom: video call, the material, whiteboards, chat and a shared dictionary, all on one screen.
  • Follow up — assign homework, review what students submit, and let vocabulary flow into their practice list.
  • Run a school — add tutors, assign them students, share a library, and put your own logo on it.

The words used in this help centre

WordWhat it means
SpaceYour school. Every student, lesson and material belongs to one space. When you sign up, a space is created for you and you are its owner.
CourseA folder in the Library that holds related materials, optionally split into sections.
MaterialOne lesson's content. It has a Lesson tab and a Homework tab.
ElementOne block inside a material — a text, an image, a dictionary, or one of the interactive exercises.
LessonA scheduled class at a date and time, with students and usually a material attached.
ClassroomThe page you open when a lesson starts: video, material, whiteboards, chat.
MemberA person in a space, with one of four roles: owner, admin, tutor or student.

Who does what

Classario shows different things to different people. Owners and admins see billing and the team; tutors see the students assigned to them; students see only their own lessons, homework and practice.

Good to know: students never need to pay or see a plan. Billing belongs to the space owner, and students keep access to their assigned work even if a subscription lapses.
