Starting a lesson: a tour of the classroom
What each panel of the live classroom does — call, material, whiteboards, chat, dictionary and homework.
The classroom is where you actually teach. Open it by clicking a lesson on the Calendar, or press Start lesson in the sidebar for an instant one.
Left: the call
The video call runs inside the page — nobody leaves Classario or installs anything. Below it are two tabs, Chat and Dictionary. You can expand the video if you want faces bigger than content.
Right: the material
The lesson's material, section by section, with a row of section buttons across the top. Whatever you scroll to, your student can follow along in their own copy; their answers come back to you live.
Along the top right of the material panel:
- Save material — push this lesson's content back into your Library as a reusable material.
- Expand material — hide the call and use the full width.
- Copy lesson link — a link that opens this exact lesson.
Bottom: Whiteboard and Homework
- Whiteboard adds a board as another tab beside the material. You can open several in one lesson and reuse existing boards.
- Homework shows what is assigned from this lesson's material.
Mobile
On a phone the classroom splits into Call and Lesson tabs, so you switch rather than squeeze both in.
The material a lesson opens is a snapshot taken when the lesson was scheduled. Editing the material in the Library later does not rewrite a lesson you already taught.
