Lesson chat, dictionary and pronunciation

The two panels under the video: a chat with attachments, and a shared word list that feeds student practice.

Chat

Every lesson has its own chat, under the video panel. It keeps the conversation attached to the lesson rather than scattered across messaging apps.

  • Type in the box and press send.
  • Use Attach to send an image or a file.
  • Your own messages can be edited or deleted afterwards.

Lesson chat is tied to that lesson. For something that is not about one particular class, use Messages in the sidebar instead.

Dictionary

The Dictionary tab is a shared word list for this lesson. Add a Word and its Translation, press Add word pair, and it appears for everyone in the room straight away.

This is the single most useful habit in Classario: words you add during a lesson flow into each student's Practice list, where they come back for review on a spaced schedule. Nothing to export, nothing to re-type.

Pronunciation

Dictionary words can be played aloud. Classario uses its own voice rather than whatever the browser happens to have, so a word sounds the same for you and for your student, on any device.

Owners and admins choose the voice in Settings → Platform Settings → Dictionary pronunciation, with a preview button to hear it first.
