Images, audio, video and files
Uploading and cropping images, searching Unsplash and GIPHY, and adding audio, video and documents to a material.
Images
Add an Image element and you have three ways to fill it:
- Upload a file from your computer.
- Search Unsplash for a free photograph without leaving Classario.
- Search GIPHY for an animation — good for a warm-up or a reaction.
Uploaded images can be cropped in place, so a screenshot with too much white space becomes usable without another tool. Give each image alt text: it describes the picture for anyone using a screen reader, and it is what students see if an image ever fails to load.
An image element can hold several pictures, which students page through — useful for a sequence or a spot-the-difference.
Audio
An Audio element plays a clip with an optional transcript underneath. Listening comprehension, model pronunciation, dictation.
For pronunciation of single words, prefer a Dictionary element — Classario reads those aloud with its own voice and they feed into student practice.
Video
A Video element embeds a video by URL, with an optional caption, so it plays inside the material instead of sending students to another site mid-lesson.
Files
A Files element holds PDFs, documents and presentations for students to open or download — a coursebook page, a worksheet, a score.
Media lives with the material, so every lesson that uses that material has it. Nothing to re-attach per lesson, and nothing to re-send to a student who lost the file.
